Cycle One Projects Workshop

When reaching the Education Department, the class group will be welcomed by the Zoo educator (biologist), who will then accompany the children to the primary school classroom.

There will then be a presentation in the classroom about how the activity works and about the animal or animals they will be working with.

The study of the animal’s morphology and its different body parts will be done using a giant jigsaw puzzle, whenever possible. Students have to put the parts of the animal’s body into the right places and say what each of them is for.

The type of food the animal eats will be explained with artificial foods. The students must place the different foods they eat under each animal. Depending on the animal selected, games will be played to work on how they move, where they live, how they live and other important characteristics.

Then there will be a guided tour of the Zoo, in which explanations about the animals will continue.
