How Man Makes Use of the Animals Workshop

To get the maximum benefit from the How Man Makes Use of Animals Workshop, we recommend that you do some work at school on the following aspects before taking the workshop, both by discovering their natural environments and in other areas (art projects, body expression, oral and written expression, maths, etc.):

To understand the students’ interests and increase motivation about the animals:

• Make large drawings of typical farm animals.
• Imitate the sounds made by these animals.
• Compile stories and songs about farmyard animals that the students are able to follow. 

To observe the animals:

• Get a duck or chicken chick to be able to observe it in class.
• Visit a traditional farm.
• Watch excerpts of documentaries about farmyard animals.
  

As specific objectives:

• Identification of the different parts of the body of farmyard animals and the function they serve.
• Understanding of the idea of farmyard animal.
• Recognition of the most characteristic animals at farms.
  
• Basic ideas about the feeding and upkeep of farmyard animals.
• Knowledge of the products obtained from farmyard animals.
