The Vertebrates Workshop

Suggestions for activities to do after The Vertebrates Workshop at the Barcelona Zoo: 

Social and natural sciences space:

• Fill in the cards to do at school that are included in The Vertebrates workbook. 
• Make murals with the photos of animals collected, grouping them by different criteria: external layer, element in which they live, type of movement, type of food, etc.
  
• Classify the animals above into their corresponding classes.
  
• Make the students prepare ‘lectures’ about the vertebrates, individually or in groups, to present to their classmates.
  
• Write and/or represent stories about the vertebrates collected or invented by the students, which contain information learned while doing the activity.
• Make a book or album about animals that contains everything learned. 
• Look for similarities and differences between different vertebrates.

Evaluation of learning obtained:

• When looking at different photographs of animals, students have to say whether or not they are vertebrates, the type of external layer they have, the element in which they move, the type of food they eat and the type of defence they use if they are in danger.
