Farmyard Animals Workshop

When reaching the Education Department, the class group will be welcomed by a Zoo educator (biologist), who will then accompany the children to the Zoo Farm on the little train.

There will then be a presentation in the farm classroom-workshop about how the activity works and about the animals they will be working with: the hen, the cow, the pig, the goat and the rabbit.

The morphology of the five animals and their different body parts will be studied using giant jigsaw puzzles. Students have to put the parts of the animal’s body into the right places and say what each of them is for.

To learn about the food the animals eat, the children will have the chance to feed some of the animals at the Zoo Farm.

The farmyard animals are related to the different products that mankind obtains from them and the children are given the different objects and/or materials, which they then put below the puzzle of the animal that produces them.

To finish, they have a small guided tour of the Zoo Farm.

The group can then stay at the Zoo until closing time. We suggest visiting the wild boars, the wild goats, the zebras and the mallards.
