Animal Adaptations Workshop

Suggestions for activities to do after the Animal Adaptations Workshop at the Barcelona Zoo:

Natural sciences space:

• Do activities for school that are included in the Animal Adaptations study guide.
• Make a worksheet of different animal species with examples of physical adaptations.
• Do a group project about human adaptations in different habitats.
• Compare previous adaptations of animals from the same place.
• Look for an example of animals of different phylogenetic origins that have developed similar adaptations in different ecosystems.
• Look for extinct animals and analyse the causes of extinction (adaptation problems, modified environment, etc.).

Evaluation of learning obtained:

• Show slides of different animal species so that students can explain their adaptations.
• Propose situations in habitats with extreme conditions, in which students can deduct the most suitable adaptations in each case: for example, adaptations to extremely cold or dry climates or habitats lacking light (nocturnal animals, great ocean depths).
