Animal Feeding Workshop

Suggestions for activities to do after the Animal Feeding Workshop at the Barcelona Zoo:  

Natural sciences space:    

• Do the worksheets at school that are included in the Animal Feeding workbook. 
• Make murals with the photos of animals collected, grouping them their feeding types. 
• Classify the animals above into their corresponding categories: herbivores, carnivores, piscivores, insectivores, frugivores, carrion-eating, filter feeders and omnivores. 
• Make the students prepare ‘lectures’ about the foods of vertebrates, individually or in groups, to present to their classmates.
• Write and/or represent stories about feeding strategies that are collected or invented by the students, which contain information learned during the activity.  
• Make a book or album about animal foods that contains everything learned.  
• Look for similarities and differences between different vertebrates that have the same food. Lion-eagle-crocodile. 

Evaluation of learning obtained: 

• When looking at the photograph of animals, students must establish: the type of food they eat and the strategies employed to obtain food.
