Botanical Guide

As well as being an indispensable component in the landscape, the vegetation of Barcelona Zoo is considered to be a collection in its own right and is used as an educational tool to explain aspects of botany and ecology. The vegetation at the zoo consists of imposing trees, various shrubs and special plantations that play a prominent role in helping the majority of the animals that live in the zoo to adapt to their surroundings.

The Barcelona Zoo Botanical Guide describes and gives illustrations of the large quantity of species of flora found in the park. It contains a wide range of information and will introduce you to, or extend your knowledge of, the vegetation to be found around the world.
