Oceania is a continent consisting of Australia, New Guinea, New Zealand and the islands of Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia.  They are notable for their exotic fauna and flora, which are completely different from those of the other continents.

Fauna

The fauna of Oceania includes many unique species. The kangaroo, the koala and the Tasmanian devil are just a few examples. A large number of birds and fish also live in the extensive continent. In addition, Australia has the largest stock of   sheep and is the principal exporter of wool.

Flora

The flora of Oceania is very varied due to the highly dispersed nature of the continent's land.  The vegetation ranges from tropical and temperate rainforest to deserts. The mangrove swamp is common on the coast and on atolls.

Climate

The equatorial or tropical climate remains almost the same throughout the year and is strongly influenced by the ocean currents, with high temperatures, high humidity and abundant and regular rain. Even so, the western shores, situated on the leeward side, are more arid with less rain.
