Cal for Entries 2012
Barcelona Zoo awards grants and grants for specific research programmes proposed by organisations, institutions and individuals. The aim of these PRIC grants is to promote research within the zoo.
To be awarded a PRIC grant, specific projects should be aligned with the overall objectives of Barcelona Zoo’s Research and Conservation Programme. In addition, they must conform to one of the research areas that this programme considers to be of priority interest:
- Research applied to conservation.
- Research applied to animal welfare and understanding species in their environment.
- Research applied to the protection of biodiversity in the city of Barcelona.
- Research applied to wildlife in the Mediterranean area.
The financial amount of grants granted by Barcelona Zoo makes up one-third of the total annual budget for the research project, with two-thirds being self-financed. These grants and grants are compatible with others granted by other administrations and organisations.
