Renovation of the Board of Natural Sciences in an aim to administrate and encourage municipal scientific collections, including the Zoo.

Inauguration in the old aquarium of the monumental waterfall of the Ciutadella, the new ichthyological laboratory for breeding fish.
1915
With the death of one of the most emblematic animals of the Zoo –the first elephant of Barcelona named l’Avi– comes another elephant, Júlia, a gift from the viceroy of Morocco Muley Hafid. The new elephant becomes the Zoo’s most famous icon.
1917-1919
Francesc Darder dies as the result of a snake bite, and management of the Zoo is taken over by his son Jeroni together with Pere Màrtir Rossell as curator of the Zoo.
