Objectives

Combat lepidopteran reduction in the Parque de la Ciudadela, preparing properly specific places in the Zoo.

Actions

Actions that have been carried for this project include, first, the design and choice of plants for the new wild butterfly space at the Zoo Farm and recording the sightings of butterflies. Through this project, we have identified over 20 different species and we are studying their presence at the Zoo throughout the year. Zoo volunteers are also responsible for maintaining the new space, with continuous monitoring. Many Zoo employees are contributing to this study by providing information on their observations of each species.
