Living in the desert is not easy! The high temperatures and the lack of water mean that many animals aren’t suited to the experience.
In this ideal Saturday morning activity for the youngest members of the family, the Zoo’s educators, who are professionals in the field of natural sciences, and have lots of experience running teaching activities, will show the children how some animals survive in the desert because of the different ways they’ve adapted to it. Learning this and much more will help them understand what desert life is like and how the animals live.
As they journey around the Zoo, the young explorers will make many discoveries, which they can record in the workbook that we’ll give them, with space for their own findings and also some puzzles. They’ll make something with their own hands, which they can take away as a souvenir of a wild adventure! Bring them along to learn and work with us to protect nature.
