Just before Easter Break, Sant Miquel School’s pupils came to visit us and discover how we work indoors. They were able to visit the vet area and see some kitchens where they prepare all the food for the animals we have. We had the opportunity to talk with one of the Elephants carer and she explained us everything she does to help them live better.

During this past Easter week, we did an Easter Camp last 4 days where the young kids discovered about the environments different animals are adapted to. We have prepared enrichment for different animals, we learned curiosities and we talked with the Educators about things we can do to help the animals live better.
Cleaning, enriching, feeding, observing and healing, training ... and in short making sure that the animals have a well-being at the Zoo for their conservation is one of the tasks that the first year students of ESO have learned. They have seen examples visiting animals and important places such as bedrooms, the veterinary clinic and the warehouse.
ESO 1st year students present to their classmates the new facilities they have thought of and made in the form of a model to improve the ones that some animals have in the Zoo.
They have been based on some parameters explained to them by a Zoo educator and on the explanations she gave them in front of the facilities when they visited us.
This project has been very enriching and they have had great results!
ESO students have researched beaks, teeth, digestive tracts and all types of vertebrate animal feeding.
They have been discovering everything with the help of a lot of biological material, which they have been able to manipulate, and the instructions of the Zoo educator; which has also been resolving the doubts that have arisen.
The first grade boys and girls have come to see us to learn a lot about the trades of the Zoo workers!
We have noticed that there are more people with different professions than we thought: caregivers, veterinarians, educators, gardeners, secretaries, director, curators, waiters, cooks, doctor, nurse, cleaning ... really the zoo is like a small town ! The Zoo educator told us what her job is, the work of other classmates and what they have had to study.
P4 boys and girls have come to greet Yoyo, Susi and Bully and learn a lot about where they live and where they came from, what problems they have in the savannah to survive.
They have also seen all the toys (enrichments) they have in their yard, their pools, the bedrooms, how they eat with the horn and what they eat, how they walk, how their family is in the African savannah and the zoo.
They have also discovered their footprint and have prepared a good food dish using 2 dynamics with which they have had the best time!
The P4 turtle class has visited us to learn a lot about them.
From where they live to what they eat, what their eggs are like, their scales, how they walk or swim. And everything they need to be well.
In addition, at the Zoo we have many, aquatic and terrestrial, all in danger of extinction that they have been able to visit in the company of a Zoo educator who has explained all the secrets and taught them different biological materials !.
The turtles that have hit them the most have been the giants! Huge but very quiet
First graders have come to see us to discover all the characteristics of vertebrates. Both the communes and those that differentiate the 5 groups.
About the aquatic and terrestrial.
About herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.
About the oviparous, viviparous and ovoviviparous.
About those who have hair, scales, feathers or bare skin.
They have been able to see all this with the help of the biological material brought by the Zoo educator and the animals she has been visiting!
