IES BESÓS STUDENTS ARE AS MONKEY AS I AM

4th grade ESO students visit us to discover the great diversity of primates that exist on the planet with the help of a Zoo educator.

There are all sizes, such different family groups, often very specialized diets, complex ways of communicating, great physical but also mental abilities, with great success in building tools and problem solving.

Some more similar than others to us what they have in common are the dangers that threaten them in their habitats facts that make one of the few chances of survival is their conservation from zoos.

PERE IV SCHOOL FINDS AN UNICORN AT THE ZOO!

The boys and girls of P4 of Peter IV would never have thought that they would want a unicorn and less that they could touch one!

All myths begin with a certain part decorated with an invented part, and this is also the case with the unicorn.

With the help of the Zoo educator, they have been researching the myth of the unicorn and have been discovering, little by little, through a story, the real animal that hides behind it.

How to differentiate them by the covers, how they move and whether they do it fast or not, what they feed on, how they breathe, which senses they use the most, how their families are, how they reproduce ... for this has been able to observe closely biological material of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.

In addition, the educators of the Zoo have told them a lot of curiosities about the species they have visited.

CATALÒNIA SCHOOL INVESTIGATES THE VERTEBRATES!

Third graders have come to research different characteristics of vertebrates in our workshop!

They have tested their senses as good mammals, discovered the covers of all vertebrates, found the most important parts of each of the vertebrate skeletons, and investigated the types of reproduction and fertilization of each type of vertebrate!

And for those who have gone faster it has given them time to look at what the bones are called, or to reconstruct the reproductive sequence of the animals.

PAU CLARIS VISITS US!

Today the first ESO students had the second session of the Zoo Interdisciplinary Project.

They will have the opportunity to see different facilities and learn what factors are involved in animal welfare.

One of these factors in which they have participated is that of environmental enrichment, one of the tasks carried out at the Zoo to improve animal welfare.

Enrichments are personalized, not only by species but also by individual. And every day they are different!
